This is a poster for a book release by Chronical Books, in concept of course. I had two others that fit into the series but this one is my favorite. I was also looking forward to an excuse to buy some army guys….too much fun, and juxtapozed with Helvetica – Outstanding? – ya think

This is a cover design for a Hemlock Printers checklist for bridging the desktop process to the printing process, It was a great project and the only downer was this cover ended on up on the cutting room floor. I wanted to reflect the history of the company and the craft that is perhaps taken for granted. Maybe a bit to gritty for blanketing the design world – I guess you learn from your mistakes…..don’t take chances, stay in the box, and play it safe…….simple eh?

This is poster playing with music and typography. The words are that of Paolo Nutini, if this guy comes to town go see him, he is here in a month, I’ll be there.

Working from old story books trying to come up with a character that is recognizable, this is one of many – anyone know what it is….telll me I forget

I was working on a logo type and this is how I represented that old German name I was born with – witty – maybe.

That smart car is ok – rendered in ink – I think I like it better than the logo type.

Salute

This is another one of my many commutes, mapped out in literal time, this is a 45 minute commute in June 2006 on a Thursday….I think. Its the Truth.

I have had these two in a sketchbook and thought they were itching to get out there. One looks alot like someone I know and the other is influenced by a roommate in Italy….only a few will know what that means. I enjoy the rapidograph pens and these drawing were built that way…..all analog Mr. – if that is even your real name.

I have been busy, but thats not to say I have been avoiding the creative moments. These are two illustrations that were done for an Enviromental Mag Jimmy and I Art Directed and produced over the past few months. Its been a great experience and these are 2 images from that rag. The first is ink on paper, and the second is a collabrative effort between us, its used motor oil, pencil, and photoshop. Cheers.

I made this image a couple years ago when school and project deadlines were starting to get to me, It seemed appropriate to post it here again at this time. I have a few more with a similar flavour. I will post them unless I can create something new. Cheers
